the B.E.S.T. INLINE WATER FILTER.
Q.
Does the size of my tank/s make a
difference.
A.
No. If you are filling your tanks through the filter system, replacement of
cartridges will just be more often than when you are filtering only at the
drinking point.
Q.
How long does the water in the tank/s remain good for using the E-RV
(Electronic) Range?
A.
This is subject to environmental conditions. Experiments in the
laboratory on the E-RV range proved that after 3 weeks, (using the worst type of
e.coli bacteria at over 100 times that of a septic tank), there was no bacteria
re-growth. If there is a concern that water has 'gone off', turn the system to
the re-circulate direction for the calculated time (When connected correctly).
Q.
Does it make any difference to what the material my tanks are made of?
A.
The silver is effective in all environments.
Q.
What connections do I need to connect to the system?
A.
The thread sizes are standard 1/2" male BSP or the inline units can
also be supplied with 3/4" male BSP for hose connections.
Q.
Can I buy the cartridges anywhere?
A.
These are a world wide standard length, which means you can purchase
another cartridge to suit. However you will not be able to purchase the
quality. We have selected the carbon type to compliment the quality of our
system, not to mention the addition of the silver coated crystals in all of the
B.E.S.T. Alternative carbon cartridges. We can forward replacement cartridges on
to you wherever you are (usually the Post Office at the next town you are
visiting).
Q.
Does this system work on salt water.
A.
No. The removal of salt water is a totally different filtration process. (Search
for Marine Desalinators.) If you are using fresh water with a high salt content,
a Water Conditioner may be of
assistance.
Q.
Can I take on bore water.
A.
Yes. This will remove chemicals and destroy the bacteria in it. Depending
on the source, it may not remove all of the colour, taste and odour- but it will
be safe. If your circumstances require taking on a lot of offensive bore water,
talk to us about incorporating a Water
Conditioner with your B.E.S.T. water filter. The Water Conditioner will not
remove the minerals but will neutralise them. A water conditioner will not
destroy bacteria, remove chemicals or make the water safe.
Q.
Do I have to upgrade my pump?
A.
Generally not, but it does depend on what system you select and what size
your pump is. A carbon filter offers no resistance whereas the micro filtration
requires a pump capable of around 45 p.s.i.
Q.
When will I know to change the
B.E.S.T. Alternative Carbon cartridges?
A.
Either when the flow reduces; when the cartridge has treated high
concentrations of chemicals and a taste has returned; or at 16,000 Litres.
Whichever is first. If you are unsure, you can use pool-testing strips which
measures the chlorine level. Test the water before and after the filter. If the
strip changes colour after the filter, you need to change your cartridge. (When
doing the before test and the strip does not change colour, it means there is no
chlorine in your water supply!)
Q.
When will I know to clean the micro filtration (Ceramic) cartridge/s?
A.
When the flow reduces to an unacceptable level.
Q.
Is the silver in the B.E.S.T. Systems a health supplement?
A.
No. It is used to prevent bacterial growth and regrowth only.
Q.
Will the B.E.S.T. System/s take out essential minerals?
A.
No. To remove minerals a different process is used. See Water
Conditioners.
