OBJECTIVE How does the B.E.S.T. compare to the rest?

SET-UP The water supply used was untreated tank (rain) water. Place a one (1) micron dirt filter (A) downstream of the B.E.S.T. Alternative system. Place another one (1) micron dirt filter (B) downstream of a 'standard' silver impregnated carbon cartridge. This will trap and display any bacteria grown and released, if any, in either cartridge.

RESULT After 3 weeks, a slight shade of green was appearing on Specimen B. After three months, Specimen B had a thick coating of growth. Specimen A continued with no sign of growth or discolouring throughout the test.

CONCLUDING NOTES Silver works, as long as it is applied correctly. The simple presence of silver (as in silver impregnated) is not enough to destroy bacteria and keep your filter bacteria free. All water must come in contact with silver (as in B.E.S.T. Alternative) to effectively control bacteria.
