(B.E.S.T. stands for Bacteria Eliminating Silver Treatment)

The Whole of House Unit uses the 'B.E.S.T. Alternative' system, which utilises silver to destroy bacteria. Silver is natures antibiotic against bacteria.

The 'B.E.S.T. Alternative Whole of House' utilises a bed of crystals coated with a sanitising solution of silver before the filtration process. Here you are assured that no bacteria will breed within your water filter. The level of silver released is very low. This system is not effective in preventing bacteria regrowth in stored water.

Hence, we recommend that a 'polishing' unit be fitted under the sink for drinking water. These units come with an additional sanitising medium and micro-filtration cartridges are fitted to prevent any cysts or parasites, etc. from entering your drinking water.

The Whole of House unit removes any dirt, rust, sediments, chemicals, pesticides, etc from all water entering your house. This is especially important for your shower water as chemicals can enter your skin when you have a warm shower. This can irritate sensitive skin and worsen the effects of eczema, psoriasis, etc. As well as entering your skin, these chemicals are inhaled when the warm temperature of the water turns them into gases.

PRODUCT DATA

Description: This unit is specifically for households and can be supplied with or without a bypass, depending on your needs. The WOH units are fitted with a silver crystal cannister, which keeps the cartridges bacteria free, thus extending the life of the cartridges.

Water Supply: The WOH Units, with or without a bypass, are available for chlorinated and non-chlorinated water supplies. The difference between these is - the unit specified for chlorinated water is supplied with a pressure limiting. The non-chlorinated unit is not supplied with this valve.

Cartridges/Etc.: All units come with a 20" Pre-Sediment Cartridge (remove dirt and sediment) in the first housing and a 20" Carbon Cartridge (remove chemicals, herbicides, pesticides, THM's, rust, etc.) in the second housing. Also included are mounting brackets and a housing spanner.

Limitations: These units do not remove or prevent the release of cysts or parasites such as Giardia, Cryptosporidium, etc. To filter these out of your drinking water, you will need to fit an additional unit at the point of use (Eg - your kitchen sink), which will have a very fine ceramic or similar cartridge to 'polish' your water.

Sanitising Medium: A Silver Crystal Cannister is installed prior to the filters. This system forces all water to come in contact with the silver, which attracts bacteria and destroys them. Only a very small amount of silver is released, which is then carried into the carbon and then removed.

Servicing: Silver Crystal Cannister- recommended to be replaced at the same time as you replace your carbon cartridge. This is the safest method of ensuring protection against bacteria for your cartridges within your whole of house unit. Cartridge Maintenance- the Pre-Sediment Filter is required to prevent the carbon cartridge from clogging quickly and is replaced when flow drops or these may be rinsed a few times. The Carbon Filter absorbs chemicals, most colour, taste and odour, but offers no protection against bacteria or parasites. (The 0.4 micron Ceramic is cleanable for approx. 50,000 litres)

Installation: The unit is generally installed after the first hose tap on your house. If this is possible, a bypass is not needed. If the unit can only be installed before the first hose tap, the bypass is needed. This is put into use when you use the hose tap to save your cartridges being wasted on gardens, washing cars, etc. If installing on town water supply, a 'Town Pressure Kit' is highly recommended.

Dimensions: APPROXIMATELY; Height - 580mm (Plus allow 50mm for servicing); Width - 500mm; & Depth - 190mm. These dimensions do not take into account the mounting bracket.
